Memorial Day, observed on the last Monday in May, is a day of national remembrance—a time to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States military. For students of all ages, it’s an important opportunity to learn about courage, service, and sacrifice.

Memorial Day is a federal holiday that honors U.S. military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces. It is not just a long weekend or the start of summer—it’s a day to pause and reflect on those who gave everything for our country.
